Our Design Process
How we design and draft comprehensive estate plans for our clients:
Our first meeting is the Initial Client Meeting. During this meeting we discover the goals and objectives of our clients. We also learn about the client’s financial estate and their family members and loved ones. We also learn who the client’s other professional advisors are and get permission to contact them. This meeting usually lasts from 1-2 hours. We want to get to know your family dynamics, learn what fears and desires you have. Everyone is different and every estate plan is uniquely tailored to meet our clients’ hopes, fears and desires.
Our second meeting is the Design Meeting. Our time in this meeting is spent educating clients on the estate planning and asset preservation options available to them and counseling them as they identify what planning options they want included in their plan. This meeting may last 2-3 hours.
The third meeting in our process is the Delivery Meeting. During this meeting we review the provisions of the Plan with the clients, showing where their personal planning goals are represented in the documents. We also review the ancillary documents such as the health care proxy, power of attorney, and living will to ensure that they are drafted exactly as the client desires. After review the documents, they are signed and notarized.
After the estate plan is signed, upon request we then assist our clients to make sure that the plan is implemented. This may include working with the client’s other advisors to make sure the plan is funded properly, and making sure that the proper financial and insurance reviews have taken place.
We believe that our process is superior in achieving the desired results for our clients. Once we implement your plan through our planning process, you can be confident knowing that you have created a plan to bring harmony to loved ones, and which will protect your legacy for generations to come.
